What's the role?
We are looking for a motivated and self-driven individual to support us in shaping the future of Hilti!
Join our interdisciplinary and international Mechatronics development team in the Business Unit Measuring to develop simulations and algorithmic solutions to support innovation for our products portfolio.
Start date is flexible to the student availability; duration for at least 3 - 6 months
What does the role involve?
The business unit Measuring portfolio includes robotic total stations, range meters, rotating and line Lasers, and concrete scanners.
In this role, you will work closely with our R&D team to create a Simulink simulation of one of our latest localization solutions. This simulation will be validated by comparison with real prototypes. You will have the opportunity to apply your knowledge on control theory in a real-world example. Different control strategies will be explored, and the simulation needs to stand the test of reality.
What you need is:
- Master student in electronics, mechanical engineering, physics/mathematics, computer science, or similar
- Familiarity with Simulink
- Knowledge of digital control (Kalman filtering, PID, moving horizon) is a plus
- Hands-on experience with mechatronics systems is a plus
- Effective communication skills in English
- Proactive and self-reliant personality, with a strong willingness to explore hard topics
