Your new role
You are significantly involved in the operational and logistical processes of the waste incineration plant and thus make an important contribution to the smooth operation of the facility. In doing so, you operate various machines, systems, and vehicles, such as telescopic forklifts and crane systems.
Additionally, you take on maintenance work for the technical systems as well as the care of buildings, outdoor, and operational areas. You support the on-site heating plant operators with simple control, maintenance, and repair tasks and carry out cleaning work throughout the operational area. Strict adherence to environmental and safety regulations as well as operational guidelines is a matter of course for you.
You are suitable for this position if you
- have technical understanding and manual skills, a strong sense of order and cleanliness, as well as a pronounced hands-on mentality and enjoy practical work in an industrial environment.
- have completed training in the fields of technology, logistics, building services/maintenance, or craftsmanship (advantageous) and hold a forklift license in category R1 and/or R4 (advantageous).
- have experience operating machines and vehicles (e.g., forklift, telescopic forklift, crane).
- work reliably, carefully, safely, and responsibly.
- work independently but also enjoy working in a team and are physically resilient and weatherproof (part of the work is outdoors).
- have good German language skills, both spoken and written.

The modern waste incineration plant (KHK), a company of Entsorgung St.Gallen, is responsible for the utilization of combustible waste and energy recovery from it. The KHK is thus a central pillar of the "Energy Strategy 2050" of the City of St.Gallen. Approximately 80,000 tons of waste are thermally processed annually in continuous shift operation. Our facility corresponds to the latest technical standards and meets all relevant environmental and safety regulations.
