The Secondary School and Vocational Education Office (MBA) is the competence and service center for vocational education, high schools, higher vocational education, and continuing education in the canton of Zurich. We support and supervise secondary schools, vocational schools, providers of preparatory vocational years, and training companies.
The Digital Service Center Sek II provides services in this environment to support administrative and pedagogical-didactic processes for around 60,000 users in over 40 cantonal schools. We are looking immediately or by arrangement for an employee in the Application Service area as a deputy database administrator and application supporter at 80%. The position is initially limited until May 31, 2031, with the possibility of extension.
Your area of responsibility
Deputizing the technical application manager in the following tasks:
- Analysis and prioritization of application requests based on business processes and corresponding documentation
- Creating scripts and reports
- Implementation of data protection, IT security, and architecture requirements in the area of responsibility
- Ensuring emergency organization (short-term and long-term in process development)
- Coordination and creation of reports on activities within the responsible platform
- Coordination of 3rd-level problems with suppliers
- Reviewing all changes for their impact on service levels
- Co-responsibility for testing from a technical perspective (for platforms from a holistic perspective)
- Processing 2nd level support tickets for the entire application
- Creating and keeping documentation up to date
Your profile
- Education in computer science or business informatics HF, FH or equivalent education with at least 2 years of professional experience.
- Database knowledge: Familiarity with database structures and management, often SQL Server. The functioning of joins, procedures, functions is known
- Crystal Reports: Expertise in using Crystal Reports for report design and development, or equivalent knowledge and willingness to acquire this expertise.
- Knowledge in PowerQuery or PowerBI
- Analytical skills: Ability to analyze data and identify trends and patterns, networked thinking
- Ability to communicate clearly with various stakeholders in German
- Knowledge of processes in secondary level II education is an advantage
