Technical Employee - Processing and Analysis of Water and Soil Samples 80% (m/f/d)
The research unit Forest and Soil Ecology, which investigates the effects of environmental changes on material flows in ecosystems, is looking for a member for the Soil Biogeochemistry group for initially 2 years (option for permanent employment)
Within the framework of the research program "Long-term Forest Ecosystem Research (LWF)", you work for the nationwide monitoring of nutrient cycles in forests. You take on central tasks in sampling, sample processing, and chemical analysis of aqueous samples (precipitation, stemflow, soil solution), plants, and soil samples. In particular, you are responsible for sample receipt from the field to the laboratory, sample processing, and various chemical analyses. As part of the laboratory team, you take responsibility for the maintenance of assigned analytical instruments. Furthermore, you also take on fieldwork duties as a deputy.
You have completed vocational training as a laboratory technician EFZ specializing in chemistry and bring relevant experience in an analytical-chemical laboratory. For fieldwork, you have a category B driving license. You are a team-oriented personality with good communication skills, which facilitates your work at the interface between field and laboratory and between different laboratories, as well as the exchange with the scientific staff of the LWF program and within the Forest and Soil Ecology research unit. In addition to mastering at least one national language, you can communicate well in English.
