The Federal Institute of Metrology METAS is the reference institute for measurements and measuring instruments in Switzerland. To ensure that a liter is always a liter (e.g., when refueling), METAS performs calibrations, conformity assessments, and consulting for business, research, and administration. Measurement accuracy builds trust, especially at the societal and political level, and is indispensable in many areas: in road traffic, electricity billing, time transfer, environmental and health measurements, etc. At METAS, various disciplines come together and complement each other – and this has been the case since 1862.
Your tasks
- Creation and improvement of quality assurance and documentation for existing and new measuring stations, e.g., in vibration and acoustics
- Development and implementation of optimization concepts for measurement infrastructure and quality assurance
- Dissemination of quantities through customer calibrations
- Leading R&D projects and infrastructure projects
- Representation of METAS in international committees and working groups
Your profile
- University/ETH with a master's degree, possibly PhD/doctorate, and many years of professional experience, focus on experimental physics
- Experience with lean management in a scientific/technical environment
- Independent and solution-oriented working style, high quality orientation
- In addition to good German and French skills, you can also express yourself well in English
- With your open and team-oriented manner, you easily take on new challenges and enrich our versatile team
