In the Department of Chemistry, Biochemistry and Pharmacy at the University of Bern, over 270 people from 43 nations teach and conduct research in 22 research and service groups. They are supported by administrative staff.
For the administration of several research groups, we are looking for an administrative clerk starting April 1, 2026, or by arrangement. The position is initially limited until 31.05.2027 with the option of permanent employment and an increase to 80% - 100%.
Tasks
- Independent management of the secretariat of 2 research groups and support of the research group leaders in all administrative matters
- Independent management of the associated financial resources with regular processing and control of credits, invoices, expenses and transfers
- Preparation of dossiers for personnel appointments
- Occasional support in the organization and implementation of conferences, workshops and seminars
Requirements
- EFZ commercial clerk, several years of professional experience, preferably in university administration
- Independent, solution-oriented, careful and precise way of working
- Excellent German and English skills essential, at least level B2, for business correspondence and financial matters
- Very good IT skills (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Adobe) as well as willingness to continuously familiarize yourself with new IT applications
- High resilience, good self-organization
- Enjoyment of a large and multicultural working environment, high social competence
- Openness to changes in tasks
