Company Description
The Geneva Foundation for Sociocultural Animation is a partnership institution, funded by the Canton and the municipalities, whose mission is to promote and maintain social cohesion in the canton of Geneva, that is to ensure the quality of the relationship between individuals and society. Through socio-educational, sociocultural, and associative field actions carried out by centers and outreach teams, the Foundation meets the population's needs in terms of meeting, exchange, solidarity, citizenship, quality of life, with a general objective of preventing social exclusion.
A position for a 5% to 10% game librarian at the Ludothèque de la Servette is open for application, starting as soon as possible.
Job Description
Participate in the activities of the game library, particularly in the following areas:
- a) welcoming users and lending games;
- b) creating and arranging thematic spaces;
- c) animations in the game library and outreach (game library festivals, neighborhood festivals, summer activities in the square, Family Game Day…);
- d) research, handling, classification of games/toys
- Design, carry out and propose an animation activity in the field of play, in connection with the neighborhood and other existing reception structures.
Qualifications
- You must have completed the Training for Leisure Activity Management Functions (FFETL - CEFOC): module 1 of this training is a prerequisite before hiring, CFC ASE or a certified game librarian training or any training deemed equivalent;
- A strong creative and manual sense;
- Good contact with all generations, a taste for play and the desire to develop it in others;
- At least 5 years of experience in the social and/or associative field;
- Successful experience working in a team;
- Volunteer game librarian experience would be an asset;
- Good knowledge of the social system and the Geneva associative network;
- An innate sense of social and human relations, a taste for working with multiple partners;
- Integrate within a small team (7 people);
- Good knowledge of basic computer/office tools.
Additional Information
- The position requires some flexibility and availability for presence during specific off-hours animations;
- Hours: some Thursday mornings and every Saturday morning
- Salary according to the Geneva State pay scale: maximum class 6/8.
