What to expect
- Technical leadership through a solid understanding of corporate strategy as well as deep product and technology knowledge
- Further development of the IT operations areas with a focus on state-of-the-art technologies, innovative future viability, and sustainability
- Identification of dependencies, potentials, and synergies and their implementation with cross-functional teams
- Promotion of product thinking within the IT operations area
- Ensuring a uniform, developer-centered technology stack (cloud & on-prem) together with the developer platform team
- Translation of developer and platform requirements into concrete projects and tasks
- Close collaboration with network and infrastructure teams to ensure stable, secure, and sustainable compute and network resources
- Translation of strategic technology decisions into actionable initiatives involving the teams' expertise
- You are part of an agile team and actively work hands-on on the conception and development of sustainable, scalable technical solutions
- You are responsible for the product roadmap, its prioritization, and the continuous evaluation of new potentials in the listed areas
- You are responsible for the analysis, conception, and implementation of new projects and innovations – from idea to going live
- You actively drive technological innovations and improvements for the infrastructure area, keep up to date with industry trends and new technologies, and evaluate their potential for our infrastructure
- You lead the selection and introduction of new technologies and establish best practices in the teams
What you bring
- A completed degree in business informatics, computer science, data science, or a comparable qualification
- Several years of practical experience in infrastructure / IT ops in a hybrid environment (cloud and on-premise)
- Solid understanding of agile software development, CI/CD, Dev(Sec)Ops, and their methodologies such as Scrum and Kanban
- Very good communication skills, persuasiveness and assertiveness, empathy
- Very good sense for internal customer needs and their mindsets and intentions
- Strong analytical and conceptual skills as well as high problem-solving competence and customer orientation
- Structured, independent, and cooperative work in an interdisciplinary team
- Good basic understanding of future-oriented technologies
- Intrinsic motivation to continuously identify relevant optimization potentials and design corresponding initiatives
- Professional experience in e-commerce is an advantage
- Experience with Azure and/or GCP is desirable
- Understanding of operating a cross-location highly available on-premise data center including storage requirements, virtualization infrastructure, network, and firewalling are desired skill sets
- Participation in a larger technology and platform modernization project would be a plus
