About the job
Three members of the Appeals Commission of the Zurich Universities 10%The Appeals Commission of the Zurich Universities decides on appeals against orders of the University of Zurich (UZH), the Zurich University of Applied Sciences (ZHAW), the Zurich University of Teacher Education (PHZH), and the Zurich University of the Arts (ZHdK). The Appeals Commission consists of seven part-time members. Due to resignations, we are looking for three new members for the Appeals Commission.
Your area of responsibility
You decide as part of a three-member panel on appeals mainly in the following areas: assessment of exams, admission to university studies, exclusion from studies, personnel law of the employees of the mentioned universities, as well as requests for access to information. The preparation of the written motions is taken over by the legal secretariat. The procedures are conducted in writing.
Your profile
You have good knowledge of (Zurich) administrative law and quickly familiarize yourself with new legal areas. You work thoroughly and have an analytical approach. It is easy for you to make decisions based on the files. You are independent of the mentioned universities.
Our offer
You can expect an interesting activity designed as a part-time office. Decisions on appeals are made at about nine meetings annually. The workload is about 10%, depending on the complexity of the assigned appeals. The office term is scheduled to start on October 1, 2026. The election is made by the University Council and the term of office is four years.
