• Leadership of the office as well as the two principals of the cantonal secondary schools
• Implementation and supervision of secondary and higher education legislation
• Planning and development of educational offerings at the upper secondary level (general education)
• Responsibility for the implementation of the revised maturity recognition regulations and the framework curriculum at the grammar schools
• Management of the maturity commission as well as coordination of entrance and final examinations
• Representation in the management of the Department of Education, in the Education Council, and in specialist committees
• Contact point for tertiary education and responsibility for university contributions
• Enforcement of the legislation for the Schwyz University of Teacher Education and membership in the university council

• University degree with pedagogical qualification for upper secondary level II and corresponding further education
• Several years of leadership experience, ideally in the (secondary or higher) school sector as well as knowledge of public administration
• Strong interest in educational policy topics
• Communicative, articulate personality and high skill in dealing with different stakeholders
• Structured, analytical, and solution-oriented working style
• Familiarity with political processes
• Good knowledge of the Swiss higher education landscape is desired
