English-speaking AMI educator 6-9 years, Nyon, Switzerland

The bilingual Montessori school “The Secret of Childhood”, located in the neighbourhood of La Petite Prairie in Nyon, opened its doors in January 2017. Around fifty students are currently enrolled in our two classes for 3-6 year olds and our class for 6-9 year olds.

We are looking for an English-speaking AMI qualified educator for our 6-9 classroom called “Classe Lac Léman”. The date of employment is 12th of August 2024.

The person hired will have the following tasks:

• Supporting children in their learning in a Montessori environment

• Ensure individual educational monitoring of children

• Participate in the establishment of a rich and caring environment that promotes learning

• Participate in team meetings and help organising parent meetings

• Contribute to the Student Report (Livret de l’élève) at the end of the school year

• Work in tandem with the French-speaking lead teacher of the class

Required profile:

• Experience as a Montessori educator

• AMI diploma 6-12 years old and university diplomas (bachelor’s, master’s, etc.). A 3-6 year AMI diploma would be an advantage.

• Sense of responsibility

• Ability to organize and plan your work

• Ability to work independently and take initiative

• Excellent command of oral and written English (English mother-tongue or seamless fluency)

• Good command of French would be an asset

• Knowledge of “Transparent Classroom” is an asset
