The position is attached to the Department of Clinical Neurosciences. This department provides care to patients of all ages, children and adults, suffering from neurosurgical, neurological, ophthalmological, and otorhinolaryngological pathologies. Care is adapted to the needs and difficulties of the patient, from the most acute sectors (intermediate care units) to rehabilitation sectors (neurorehabilitation).
The department's goal is to lead the patient towards recovery of autonomy through teaching, support, and outpatient follow-up. It ensures the operation of patients as well as their support, to promote early return home. In the same spirit, outpatient care is also favored and surgical activity optimized to facilitate access to care within a reasonable timeframe.
The neurorehabilitation service cares for people suffering from sequelae of nervous system damage with the goal of bringing them to the best possible independence and social integration.
Job description
Within the framework of medical prescriptions from the Neurorehabilitation service, you develop, provide, and evaluate physiotherapy treatments for patients presenting central and peripheral nervous system pathologies.
You manage and update patient files by documenting interventions and clinical information.
You also record the services provided.
You establish rehabilitation goals and justify them during interdisciplinary meetings.
Thanks to your team spirit, you work within a multidisciplinary team composed of physiotherapists, occupational therapists, nursing staff, and doctors, ensuring efficient services with well-argued rehabilitation objectives. In this context, you are able to work autonomously relying on your organizational skills and initiative.
You perform individual or group treatments.
You work on demand in other services of the sector: neurosurgery and acute neurology.
You have excellent communication skills and demonstrate empathy and tact with medical and nursing teams and patients.
Qualifications
You hold a Bachelor of Science in Physiotherapy or an equivalent recognized diploma.
Comfort with computer tools such as email and word processing is necessary. Mastery of HUG applications is a plus.
You have an interest or clinical experience in Neurorehabilitation.
You are an organized person with analytical and synthesis skills.
You know how to set priorities, communicate, and manage stress when faced with multiple simultaneous demands.
You have the ability to work in a team, are flexible, and able to change positions according to service needs as well as seek information while sharing knowledge.
Reliable, you have a developed sense of responsibility.
