The Sustainability Application Engineer – Transformers Europe provides sustainability expertise for transformer products and applications. This role supports Sales teams in Marketing & Sales activities, and represents the Global Product Group/Business Unit in Europe by:
• Promoting sustainability strategies and portfolios internally and to customers.
• Gathering customer requirements and advising on specification development.
• Supporting and training M&S teams in sustainability solutions for transformer products.
• Reporting market data, customer needs, tenders, and regulations related to sustainability, as well as providing strategic marketing input for analysis and competitive assessment.
How you’ll make an impact:

You will manage European markets by engaging with both current customers and potential clients, delivering technical support aimed at influencing technical specifications early in the process.

You will collaborate closely with various stakeholders within Hitachi Energy—including HSE, engineering, operations, and supply chain management—to ensure alignment of objectives and to communicate a clear value proposition to customers.

Your contribution should bring medium-long-term results as you will support the sales team at the pre-tender stage interacting with customers, through conceptual discussions aimed at understanding specs and norms, influencing technical specs, create value propositions and demonstrating technical leadership.

You will take part in marketing and communication activities, including fairs, customer events, and contributions to technical articles and press releases.

With the support of application engineers and sustainability champions, you will support strategic tenders, join capture teams; provide sustainability strategies to boost the transformer portfolio’s competitiveness and assists factories with custom tender requirements such as sustainability roadmaps and questionnaires.
Your background:

You have more than 10 years of experience in a combination of the following areas within the relevant industry sectors: Sustainability, Technical roles (including R&D, Electrical Engineering, and Design), Project Management, Product Marketing, Sales, and Business Development.

You hold an engineering degree from an accredited university. A Master’s degree in B2B Marketing is an advantage.

Your previous experience is preferably associated with transformer businesses.

You have strong technical skills, in addition to the marketing experience,

There is a strong preference for a solid background in aspects related to Sustainability in our industry (Efficiency, biodegradable fluids, materials, LCA calculations, third party verification process of environmental data (EPD, PEP Ecopassport,..), and sustainability related regulations in Europe.

Intercultural sensitiveness is required, along with good communication skills with colleagues from multinational countries for assigned region.

You enjoy speaking in public and leading technical conversations about sustainability topics in front of customers and technical committees.

Previous global / regional experience and a strong grasp of the English language is required. Multiple language skills are a merit.

Willingness to travel 50% of your time.
