Medical Secretary for the Spinal Surgery Department
The Spinal Surgery Department is looking for a medical secretary at a 70% to 80% activity rate, for a permanent contract starting January 1, 2026.
Context
The Lausanne University Hospital (CHUV) is one of the five Swiss university hospitals. Thanks to its collaboration with the Faculty of Biology and Medicine of the University of Lausanne and EPFL, CHUV plays a leading role in medical care, medical research, and education.
The Department of Clinical Neurosciences includes the services of neurosurgery, neurology, neuropsychology and neurorehabilitation, the Leenaards Memory Center, the Neuroscience Research Center, as well as the Spinal Surgery Service.
Led by Prof. Dominique Rothenfluh, the Spinal Surgery Service combines the spinal activities of the Orthopedics and Traumatology Service (OTR) and the Neurosurgery Service (NCH). It manages all adult spinal pathologies, such as degenerative diseases, trauma, or spinal tumors.
Mission
- You ensure administrative management and follow-up of patient files
- You welcome patients, their relatives, and collaborators in accordance with CHUV guidelines
- You manage the administration of hospitalizations and consultations according to GAP procedures
- You collaborate with internal teams of the Department and institutional partners.
Profile
- You hold a Federal VET Diploma as a commercial employee or an equivalent qualification, ideally complemented by a medical secretary diploma
- You have at least three years of experience in a similar position
- You have perfect command of French, excellent spelling, and fast typing skills (10 fingers)
- You have proven experience with dictation machines
- You are comfortable with Microsoft Office tools and CHUV institutional software (Soarian, Axya, Archimède)
- You demonstrate versatility, rigor, excellent interpersonal skills, and a developed team spirit
- You are recognized for your empathy, active listening, and availability towards patients.
