Job Description
Role Purpose
We are currently seeking an Electrical Project Engineer (m/w/d) for our multipurpose production site in Muttenz, who is responsible for planning and executing investment projects in the field of Electrical and Instrumentation installations (cost, schedule, quality, functionality).
This includes:
- Leading a part of one or more engineering capital projects under the direction of an Engineering Manager or Engineering Project Manager; this could be a technical responsibility across a whole project or a cross-functional responsibility for a part or phase of a project, thus ensuring the timely implementation of new or improved assets consistent with business requirements and within cost and safety parameters set by a project manager.
- Managing one or more minor engineering capital projects
- Providing technical leadership for projects, including design, construction, electrical line tests, the coordination of activities between hardware and software engineering, and ensuring technical and operational support during all asset commissioning activities.
Accountabilities
- Estimating, executing and tracking costs and physical progress to ensure project delivery meets challenging time constraints and stays within established cost and safety parameters
- Coordinating internal and external resources that form a project team
- Identifying, specifying and monitoring the implementation of appropriate engineering standards for designing, procuring and constructing to ensure compliance with company policy, local regulations and creating assets that are fit for purpose
- Producing engineering definition packages by describing technical, process and operational requirements of assets to be built and developing detailed designs that meet project success criteria
- Agreeing on project data requirements and providing accurate documentation while liaising with Commissioning Manager to identify and implement inventory and functional testing requirements in a timely manner.
Other technical accountabilities such as:
- Planning and managing a team to perform electrical line tests with precision and reliability
- Evaluating existing equipment and infrastructure conditions
- Developing cost-, scope- and resource-requirements for electrical installations in CAPEX projects
- Controlling and releasing installation
- Responsible for performing I/O checks and signal verification
- Diagnosing and resolving software and hardware malfunctions and system errors
- Closing and documenting the project, handing over to the site fully operational assets
Qualifications
- Completed degree in Electrical Engineering, Instrumentation, or a similar discipline
- Advanced expertise with DeltaV
- Several years of professional experience in an industrial environment
- Experience in construction projects as a project engineer covering the complete project lifecycle, preferably in multinational companies
- Project Management experience in the Agrochemical, Pharmaceutical, Chemical, or Process industry preferred
- Experience in leading external resources
- Solid understanding of maintenance principles and change management
- Knowledge of operational HSE and compliance requirements for CAPEX investments
- Precise working methods combined with entrepreneurial thinking and action
- Strong ability to handle stressful situations
- Adaptability to new situations and flexibility
- High level of German and minimum conversational level of English
- Willingness to work in a chemical production environment
