About the job
The Swiss School Foundation for Guide Dogs for the Blind in Allschwil BL has existed since 1972 and is financed by donations, legacies, and the Federal Disability Insurance. It is responsible for the breeding, raising, and training of guide dogs for the blind, assistance and social dogs, and autism assistance dogs. The infrastructure is modern and the training concept is at a high level.
To strengthen the team, we are looking for an Autism Assistance Dog Instructor 100% (m/f/d) to start immediately or by arrangement.
If you are interested in working with people and animals, are open-minded, flexible, empathetic, and possess practical skills, you should seize the opportunity and apply with us.
Your tasks
- Training autism assistance dogs for children as well as introducing them to the family
- Continuous support of families on-site as well as during the dogs' retirement process
- Screening of new applicant families
- Accompanying and instructing clients in further training courses
Your profile
- Ideally two or more years of experience in the assistance dog field
- Recognized diploma as an Autism Assistance Dog Instructor (ADI) is an advantage
- Recognized training as an autism coach is an advantage
- Solid knowledge of modern dog training methods (e.g., according to the LIMA principle) as well as an open attitude towards new findings in dog training
- Flexible, team-oriented, and independent personality with high physical and mental resilience
- Languages: Native German, French is an advantage
- Driver's license category B
