The Cantonal Tax Office is responsible for the enforcement of the provisions of federal, cantonal, and municipal taxes. It ensures a complete registration of all taxpayers, professional and customer-oriented tax assessment, and uniform tax collection.

The Withholding Tax Department of the Cantonal Tax Office St.Gallen is responsible for the correct and uniform accounting of employees subject to withholding tax.
