About the job
In the midst of an untouched nature park, the Grandhotel Giessbach is located in a magnificent position high above Lake Brienz.
It has 75 individually furnished rooms and suites with views of the lake, the waterfalls, or the forest. The park restaurant Les Cascades, with 140 indoor and 180 terrace seats, offers a breathtaking view of the Giessbach Falls, and our Atelier restaurant "Le Tapis Rouge," awarded 14 Gault-Millau points and a green Michelin star, with 30 seats, enchants our guests with creations made from local products directly from our garden and the region. The historic hotel residence is widely known for its splendid banquets and lively balls as well as for the unique concert series of the unplugged Giessbach Sessions and offers space for up to 250 guests.
Front Office & Reservation Agent
What to expect with us
As part of our Front Office & Reservation team, you are the first point of contact for our guests – by phone, email, and of course on site. With charm, competence, and overview, you ensure a smooth stay from arrival to departure. Your tasks include:
- ensuring a smooth process at the reception
- welcoming, attending to, and bidding farewell to our hotel guests
- carrying out check-in and check-out
- accepting and processing reservations
- operating the telephone and information center
- maintaining booking channels and handling administrative tasks
- cash management
- compliance with and implementation of Giessbach standards, hygiene, and safety guidelines
- professional complaint management and various concierge tasks
What you bring with you
You are an enthusiastic host personality who works with heart and care and enjoys direct guest contact.
You bring with you:
• Professional experience at the hotel reception or in the hotel industry
• Very good German and English skills, good French skills are an advantage
• Well-groomed appearance, impeccable manners, and high service orientation
• Resilience, team spirit, and strong communication skills
• Willingness to work shifts and weekends
• A completed vocational training in the hotel industry is desirable
• Experience with the PMS Protel would be an advantage
