About the job
The city of Illnau-Effretikon - located between Winterthur and Zurich - offers attractive conditions for around 18,000 residents with its rural and urban areas, hamlets, centers, and the historic village of Kyburg.
Together with the ICT Operations Specialist and the external provider (full outsourcing solution), you ensure the IT and communication service for the entire city administration with around 280 employees. Starting February 1, 2026, or by agreement, we are looking for you as
YOUR TASKS IN THIS ROLE ARE:
- Ensuring the implementation of the ICT strategy
- Further development of processes within the outsourcing model
- Management of external ICT service providers
- Implementation of operational IT tasks in collaboration with the external provider
- Control and resolution of support requests together with an employee
- Management of ICT projects
- Consulting and supporting the administrative management and departments in all ICT matters
- Ensuring data protection and data security
YOUR PROFILE FITS PERFECTLY IF YOU:
- have a professional qualification as an IT specialist or a comparable education
- have several years of professional experience in operational IT work, ideally in an administrative environment
- have experience in managing Microsoft Windows environments, managed services, and cloud services
- possess good conceptual and organizational skills
- have high social and consulting competence as well as service orientation
- demonstrate willingness to shape, assertiveness, and entrepreneurial thinking
