Medical Coder

Company Description

We are looking for a medical coder living in the German-speaking part of Switzerland to code in our German-speaking Swiss clinics.

Swiss Medical Network includes over 22 clinics and hospitals as well as over 60 outpatient centers in the four main language regions of the country. 

Job Description

• Work with doctors and medical secretaries to ensure accurate coding of medical records.

• Perform coding of records for various specialties while adhering to applicable coding rules.

• Carry out necessary checks and consult the responsible authorities in case of doubt.

• Provide justified responses to health insurers in case of complaints.

Qualifications

• Successful training in medical coding at a specialized center. The Swiss Federal Certificate is an additional advantage.

• Excellent knowledge of current classifications for diseases and procedures as well as the associated coding rules.

• Good understanding of the financing mechanisms of care facilities via DRG (Diagnosis Related Groups).

• Solid knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, and pathology.
  Good command of IT tools, knowledge of OPALE is an advantage
