Tasks:
- decides and manages the individual therapeutic plan for the patient according to the diagnostic and pharmacotherapeutic framework, ensuring, in collaboration with the multidisciplinary team, the proper implementation of patient care
- ensures and performs medical-psychiatric or child psychiatric specialist visits, if necessary in collaboration with psychologists, guaranteeing the correct diagnostic, psychopharmacological, and rehabilitative framework for patients
- actively collaborates with doctors from psychiatric and somatic hospital facilities and with private practice doctors, in agreement with the OSC chief psychiatrist. Regarding somatic care necessary for the patient’s well-being, organizes and co-manages the planned somatic care
- ensures FMH training for assistant doctors and other public or publicly interested professionals. Is required to update their professional knowledge in compliance with FMH provisions to maintain the specialty title
- verifies, in agreement with the deputy psychiatrist and/or the OSC chief psychiatrist, that ideal preconditions are met for a network intervention in the territory in collaboration with involved public and private structures
- ensures on-call duty in the territory and/or shifts at the Cantonal Psychiatric Clinic (CPC)
- prepares medical psychiatric or child psychiatric expert reports assigned to them and supervised by a chief psychiatrist
- guarantees the correct drafting of TARMED and TARPSY services
Requirements:
- medical diploma (or equivalent title)
- FMH specialist title in psychiatry and psychotherapy or in child and adolescent psychiatry and psychotherapy (or equivalent titles)
- authorization for free practice of the medical profession in the Canton of Ticino issued by the Health Office
- good knowledge of another official language and English
- medical-therapeutic work experience in sociopsychiatric teams
- teamwork skills
- knowledge of the territory and the sociopsychiatric care network of the Canton of Ticino
Special notes:
- employment relationship: assignment (art. 15 LORD)
- full-time employment (100%) or with lower employment rates (to be defined). Candidates are invited to indicate the desired percentage in their application
- service location will vary depending on available positions. Candidates are invited to indicate if they apply within their training in psychiatry and psychotherapy or in child and adolescent psychotherapy
- availability of the candidate to work irregular shifts
- start date: during 2025
- candidates not yet in possession of authorization for free practice of the medical profession in the Canton of Ticino, language proficiency certificate (Italian-B2), and, in case of foreign titles, recognition issued by the Mebeko Medical Professions Commission for both the medical diploma and the specialist title in psychiatry and psychotherapy or the specialist title in child and adolescent psychiatry and psychotherapy (or equivalent titles), are granted 12 months from the assignment decision to obtain the required formal qualifications
- the actual start of activity of the selected candidate is subject to obtaining the required titles/certifications. Failure to obtain the required qualifications within 12 months from the assignment decision will result in automatic forfeiture
- as this is an annual competition, with the possibility of being hired during 2025, candidates will not receive a positive or negative response. They will only be informed about the validity of their application in relation to the required qualifications
- applications without a cover letter, curriculum vitae (CV), and Mebeko certificates/diplomas/recognitions / free practice certificate, work certificates, will be rejected outright. The possibility to resubmit the application with all required documentation remains unaffected

- in addition to the documents to be submitted at the time of online application (cover letter and motivation, curriculum vitae, diplomas, certificates, and work attestations), additional documentation may be requested later (criminal record with related self-certification and health status self-certification)
Employment conditions:
- appointment or assignment: as provided by the Law on the Organization of State Employees and Teachers of March 15, 1995 (LORD) and the related Regulation. Any changes in law concerning salary and organization are explicitly reserved
- working hours: 42 hours per week (for a 100% employment relationship), flexible or according to service needs
