For the 2026 intake, our Catering Service teams are looking for their future apprentice cook CFC.
Job Description
The Catering Service includes seven kitchens and eleven catering units (brasserie, cafeteria-restaurant, café, sandwich shop) serving about 9,000 meals per day. This service's mission is to offer quality services and pleasant, friendly moments to patients, staff, and customers, through attentive service meeting the criteria of a balanced and varied diet that meets high hygiene and flavor standards. The Catering Service also offers catering services (banquets, aperitifs, etc.) on the institution's various sites. Throughout HUG, the Catering Service focuses on fresh products and local products labeled Geneva Region Earth Future.
As a cook, you prepare dishes and culinary specialties for HUG restaurants, hospital meals (specific diets, textures, etc.), and catering services. You also participate in welcoming, serving, and advising restaurant customers.
The variety of services provided and the demands of the hospital environment allow our service to offer a varied and comprehensive training path, with rotations through different kitchen stations (including pastry). Internships inside and outside the institution, allowing discovery of products, types of catering, and working methods, complement this path.
Through learning various culinary skills (cooking and production methods, food preparation, hygiene and safety rules, etc.), you will acquire the basic techniques included in the progression of your training curriculum.

You have a strong interest in cooking and discovering different catering sectors and demonstrate creativity.
Thanks to your interpersonal skills and sense of hospitality, you ensure adapted service.
Friendly, you enjoy teamwork and communicate easily with your interlocutors.
