About the job

Electronics technicians develop and implement electronic hardware and software. They improve existing or develop new solutions in the fields of computer technology, experimental, measurement and testing technology, as well as in the production of electronic products. The professionals analyze, for example, the functions of existing schematics or develop new computer programs. They manufacture electronic products, plan and supervise their production, and carry out measurement, testing, and maintenance work as well as commissioning.

Requirements for the 4-year training

• Completed secondary school
• Good performance in mathematics and physics
• Analytical and logical thinking skills
• Technical interest and understanding of abstract processes
• Enjoy tinkering and experimenting and a high willingness to learn
• Good computer skills

Future prospects

• Completion of vocational baccalaureate (BMS) during or after the apprenticeship
• Professional examination as automation specialist, process specialist, or production specialist
• Training as a technician HF, e.g. in electronics, computer science, mechanical engineering, etc.
• Studies as an engineer BSc FH, e.g. in electrical engineering, mechatronics, mechanical engineering, telecommunications, computer science
