The St.Gallen Cantonal Police ensures peace, security, and order in the canton of St.Gallen around the clock. It investigates crimes and monitors compliance with applicable laws.
In the brand new Emergency Call and Operations Control Center (NEZ), employees of the St.Gallen Cantonal Police and St.Gallen Rescue Service work together. Here, the emergency numbers 117 (police), 118 (fire brigade), 144 (ambulance), and 112 (international emergency number) converge. Together, the employees of both organizations ensure rapid and coordinated assistance from all blue light organizations in the canton of St.Gallen.
We are looking to complement the NEZ team immediately or by agreement for a
Dispatcher Emergency Call and Operations Control Center NEZ (m/f/d)
Workload: 80-100%
Workplace: St.Gallen
What to expect
- Receiving and processing emergency calls and initiating appropriate immediate measures
- Responsible for active case management, deployment, and disposition of suitable operational resources
- Operational command until at least the arrival of emergency forces and, if necessary, proactive support thereafter
- Responsible for regular review of processes and workflows in own area of activity as well as maintaining and developing own competencies
- Mainly working on the operations control and information system as well as various subsystems
- Disseminating manhunts and alerts in police-known systems, operating traffic control and management, and constructive and efficient cooperation with partner organizations (ambulance and fire brigade)
What distinguishes you
- Police officer with a federal professional certificate (MUST)
- Experience in frontline work as well as in-depth knowledge of general police work
- Willingness to work shifts (several night shifts per month), partially flexibly planned, in a small team
- Above-average resilience, high social competence in dealing with internal and external customers
- Good IT skills and proficient use of police specialist applications
- Decisiveness and openness to changes and new technologies
