Information Systems Manager at the Institute of Pathology
The Institute of Pathology of the Department of Laboratory Medicine and Pathology (DMLP) is looking for an information systems manager, motivated by digital transformation and innovation in pathology, at a workload between 80% and 100%.
The starting date is scheduled for January 1, 2026, or to be agreed upon.
Context
The Lausanne University Hospital (CHUV) is one of the five Swiss university hospitals. Thanks to its collaboration with the Faculty of Biology and Medicine of the University of Lausanne and EPFL, it plays a major role in care, research, and education.
The Institute of Pathology holds a central place in diagnosis, teaching, and translational research. A key player in digital transformation, it develops digital and computational pathology, relying on state-of-the-art equipment, a comprehensive LIMS (Dedalus-DIAMIC), and a high-resolution digital imaging infrastructure (scanners, Telemis-Microscopy platform).
With more than 100 collaborators and over 40,000 samples processed annually, the Institute offers a rich, dynamic, and forward-looking technical and scientific environment.
Mission
- You lead and optimize the DIAMIC business information system, in collaboration with the Information Systems Directorate (DSI) and suppliers
- You actively contribute to the transition to digital pathology by managing and developing the TM-Microscopy imaging system and supporting teams in adopting new tools
- You provide technical and strategic support for change requests, incident management, and continuous improvement
- You participate in integration projects and the development of innovative technologies, particularly in digital imaging and artificial intelligence applied to diagnosis
- You facilitate interdisciplinary collaboration between medical, technical, and IT teams
- You manage technical and administrative files ensuring quality, security, and data compliance
- You coordinate various internal and external stakeholders to ensure effective synergy between the service units/laboratories and the department.
Depending on your profile, the salary class will be between level 10 and 11, and the job description may be adapted.
Profile
- You hold a Master’s degree in computer science, bioinformatics, biomedical engineering, life sciences, or a relevant field
- A PhD in computational biology, data science, or biomedical imaging is an asset
- You have at least 5 years of experience in information systems management, ideally in a hospital or biomedical environment
You possess strong skills in information technologies, including:
- relational databases
- XML/XSL
- application integration
- application servers.
