Technical Management Construction and Procurement (temporary) 80 - 100%Correctional Services and Reintegration (JuWe) is part of the Directorate of Justice and the Interior of the Canton of Zurich and is responsible for penal and measure enforcement as well as the implementation of various types of detention. For our 1,400 employees from around 40 professions, the successful social reintegration of offenders, the prevention of recidivism, as well as the detention and preparation of the departure of persons without a valid residence permit are of particular importance.
The Main Department of Enforcement Facilities Zurich (VEZ) – one of seven main departments of JuWe – comprises four facilities with different types of detention. In total, over 300 incarcerated persons are cared for. The Directorate supports the institutions with its specialist services in fulfilling their legal mandate.
Due to the absence of the position holder, we are looking for an immediate appointment of a technical manager for construction and procurement. The position is limited until 31.12.2026.
Your tasks
- You lead the specialist service for construction and procurement and advise the VEZ on all construction-related issues
- You take on user representation for construction, renovation, and procurement projects for four detention facilities
- You coordinate and manage collaboration with internal stakeholders, the cantonal administration, and external planning and construction partners
- You are responsible for project reporting and controlling, especially regarding resources, deadlines, and budgets from the user perspective
- You plan and coordinate maintenance, upkeep, and renewal measures and ensure the ongoing operation of the properties
- You actively participate in cross-departmental projects and strategic initiatives
Your profile
- You have completed training/studies in the field of construction (civil engineering, architecture, specialist planning), facility management, logistics and maintenance, or a comparable discipline
- You have at least five years of relevant professional experience in planning, managing, or implementing construction, renovation, or maintenance projects
- You are characterized by proactive action, strong communication and organizational skills, as well as enthusiasm and openness for new areas of responsibility
- You enjoy working independently, strategically, and service-oriented and appreciate cross-departmental collaboration within the office
- In addition to good IT user skills, you have confident German language skills
- With your supportive, open, and transparent manner, you are the right complement to the VEZ team
