Tasks
During the course of your internship, you will play an active role in supporting the development of our flight data ecosystem and analytical methodologies, conducting analyses on operational efficiency matters and ultimately drive measures and projects aiming to reduce emissions.
- Collaborate with pilots, engineers and data experts to derive meaningful data-driven insights and analyses powering operational efficiency projects and measures
- Proactively identify and validate opportunities for potential fuel/cost savings and emission reductions
- Process aircraft recorded & operational data for explorative and visual analytics as well as defining and designing new analytical approaches and methodologies
- Develop business intelligence products (dashboards) for operational monitoring
- Support efforts to accurately quantify, validate and report the emission impact of operational measures in accordance with regulatory requirements
- Support the continuous documentation, modernization and improvement of data processing, storage, and utilization tasks

Requirements
We are seeking a motivated and data savvy candidate with a high degree of interest in the operational workings of an airline and aviation as a whole.
- Workload Specification: For this position, a 100% workload is preferred
- Bachelor’s and Master’s students or graduates (with completed at least three semesters) in Engineering, Mathematics, Physics, Data Science, IT, Aviation or other related field
- Experience in programming (e.g. Python), querying (e.g. SQL), data visualization methods and tools (e.g. Tableau, PowerBI)
- Experience with cloud-based data processing (Azure, Databricks) is advantageous (not mandatory)
- Strong analytical and presentation skills
- Independent, creative and proactive personality
- High willingness to learn, openness to new ideas and high interest in complex issues
- Systematic and structured work approach
- Strong interest in aviation operations
- Very good spoken and written German and English skills
- Very good MSOffice skills
