Company Description
The Official Youth Foundation (FOJ) aims to promote the psycho-social development of children, adolescents, and young people in difficulty, in collaboration with parents and partner institutions. Bound by a service contract with the State of Geneva, the FOJ is committed to the protection and defense of the interests of the child.
Serving families in the canton, it operates through four main areas of action: child assistance , emergency reception , family support and preparation for autonomy .
To fulfill its mission, the institution manages 47 structures across the Canton of Geneva and has 500 places for minors and young adults, offering ambulatory educational services at home. The FOJ is composed of 670 employees.
To successfully carry out its mission, the FOJ is looking for a laundry worker for the Aubépine Home which welcomes, day and night, four young people aged 12 to 18 with significant psychiatric issues, and ensures care follow-up through adapted therapeutic and educational services.
Job Description
Your role will notably consist of:
- Ensuring the cleaning, ironing, folding, and storage of personal laundry and bedding of adolescents, often in collaboration with them, in a process of empowerment
- Handling the washing, drying, ironing, folding, and storage of household linen (collective textiles and curtains), in strict compliance with hygiene and maintenance rules
- Marking clothes
- Performing mending and routine maintenance of household linen and clothes, by hand or using a sewing machine
- Managing laundry stocks and ensuring necessary orders for the smooth running of the home
- Ensuring the good condition, proper use, and maintenance of machines used for washing and ironing
- Occasionally and as an accessory task, contributing to the cleaning of premises
- Maintaining good collaboration with the multidisciplinary team and contributing to maintaining a positive and respectful relationship with the young beneficiaries of the home.
Start date : as soon as possible
Activity rate : 40%
Contract type : Permanent contract (CDI)
Grade : 06 according to the salary scale of the State of Geneva

Qualifications
- AFP diploma as a hotel-housekeeping employee or equivalent qualification
- Minimum 4 years of experience in a similar role; experience in the educational or social field is an asset
- Excellent oral comprehension and expression in French and basic written proficiency
- Basic computer skills (email – internal tools)
- Ease in communicating with adolescents and interest in working in a residential setting
- Organizational skills, autonomy, speed of execution, and attention to detail
- Good interpersonal skills, team spirit, and service orientation
- High discretion and strict respect for confidentiality
- Physical aptitude in line with the job requirements.
