The Cantonal Hospital Winterthur (KSW) and the Integrated Psychiatry Winterthur – Zurich Lowlands (ipw) are independent public-law institutions owned by the Canton of Zurich. The highest strategic management of these hospitals is the responsibility of the hospital boards. They also exercise direct supervision over the persons entrusted with operational management. The hospital boards are responsible for implementing the owner’s strategies and fulfilling the cantonal service mandates.
For the next term of office (2027–2031), we are looking for one hospital board president each for KSW and ipw as of July 1, 2027.
Your responsibility
As hospital board president, you are responsible for the strategic orientation and further development of KSW or ipw in accordance with legal requirements and the specifications of the Canton of Zurich as owner. You maintain regular contact with the Health Directorate and represent KSW or ipw externally.
Your profile
Your proven track record in operational management of a larger company at the executive or group management level (in healthcare or a related service sector) and your high communication and social skills enable you to lead the hospital board with foresight and competence. You have profound business management knowledge, experience at the board of directors level, and a strong understanding of governance issues. You are accustomed to strategic, long-term thinking and have the ability to critically analyze complex issues. You represent your position with assertiveness. You have a sense for political contexts and can respond appropriately. In addition, you are honest, have an impeccable reputation, and no conflicts of interest with KSW or ipw. Ideally, you are already networked in the Swiss/Zurich hospital sector.
