Consultant Road Superstructure
The Superstructure and Geotechnics section in the Road Inspectorate of the Civil Engineering Office Canton Zurich consists of a six-member team. The section is responsible for the strategic maintenance management of road surfaces, conducts condition surveys and quality controls in the road superstructure, and is the contact point for all geotechnical issues. Due to the retirement of the current position holder, we are looking for you as a Consultant Road Superstructure.
Your tasks
- You create superstructure concepts and rehabilitation proposals for our state roads according to VSS standard 40 324. For this purpose, you regularly conduct inspections.
- You assess the quality of the executed bitumen-containing layers according to the specifications of the VIWZ.
- You are responsible for the annual supplier approval of unbound mixtures and ensure that the requirements of VSS standard 70 119 are met.
- You support superstructure consultations and strategic maintenance management.
Your profile
- You have completed training in civil engineering, materials testing, or equivalent.
- You have professional experience in the planning and/or execution of road construction projects. Alternatively, you have solid experience in materials testing.
- You possess knowledge in material technology (foundation layers, asphalt, and concrete).
- You enjoy working both in the office and in the field and have a category B driving license.
- Knowledge in geotechnics (e.g., special foundation engineering) is a plus.
