Tasks
Driving vehicles: Your duties include driving heavy motor vehicles and operating special equipment. You also take on parking duties and ensure the good condition of the vehicles.
Living teamwork: You are open to new tasks and like to get involved. Thanks to your technical understanding, you also support the team with other work in city cleaning.
Performing special assignments: Occasional shifts at night, on weekends or public holidays are part of this role. Your support is also required during early and winter services as well as after major events.
Profile
Experience: You bring professional experience and good local knowledge. Even in dense city traffic, you keep an overview and drive safely and proactively. Preferably, you have experience operating crane vehicles.
Personality: You are motivated, like to get involved, and feel comfortable in a lively working environment. With your friendly and professional manner, you represent the city cleaning service convincingly.
Training: You have training as a lorry driver (Category C) or a comparable qualification with relevant professional experience.
Language: Good German skills, both spoken and written, enable you to communicate securely, including direct contact with the public.

The Civil Engineering Office coordinates, plans, builds, documents and maintains roads with associated infrastructure and is responsible for public sewage systems. It is responsible for flood protection and safe traffic routes. It also coordinates the use of public spaces and is the lead authority in the approval process. It collects and disposes of waste and ensures cleanliness in the city of Basel. The Civil Engineering Office makes an important contribution to a high quality of life in Basel and is part of the Department of Construction and Transport.
