Director Finance & Accounting – BU Life Science

Your Tasks

As Director Finance & Accounting in the SteelcoBelimed Business Unit Life Science, you bear overall responsibility for all financial, accounting, and tax processes and ensure correct and timely reporting for all group companies managed by the Business Unit (BU). This role includes managing accounting functions, financial planning and analysis, internal controls, tax compliance, and audit coordination for all legal entities of the Business Unit Life Science as well as consolidation at the BU level. The Director ensures compliance with local and international accounting standards, supports strategic decision-making, and works closely with management to improve financial performance and operational efficiency across the business unit. This position focuses on financial accounting, cash management, financing, hedging, and taxes, while controlling and management reporting as well as forecasting/budgeting are directly led by the EVP Finance. As an important member of our finance team, you report directly to the EVP Finance and act as their deputy. This position is part of the Business Unit Senior Management. In our technical and medium-sized environment, the Director Finance is expected to have a pronounced hands-on mentality and enjoy actively participating in various finance and accounting processes. Your Profile

Basic commercial training, ideally with further education as a financial specialist with a federal diploma

Certified expert in accounting and controlling or master’s degree in accounting & controlling is an advantage

At least 10 years of professional experience in finance and accounting in a manufacturing company (preferably in a project-driven / engineer-to-order environment), of which at least 4 years in a leadership position

Experience working with international teams (especially from Germany, the USA, and Italy)

Experience in handling accounting and tax issues for US subsidiaries, especially in the area of sales taxes

Expertise in finance and accounting as well as in preparing financial statements

Experience in cross-border handling of VAT, especially Switzerland and Germany, ideally also Slovenia and Italy

Experience in group reporting, treasury, and dealing with foreign currency risks

Experience with SAP FI, good knowledge of SAP CO is an advantage

Generalist in finance and accounting

Hands-on mentality and high willingness to actively and operationally participate in finance processes

Work location: Sulgen, low travel activity

Very good German and English skills, spoken and written
