The Corporate Functions division groups together the non-banking activities of the Pictet group and has more than 600 employees. Managed by specialists who have a thorough knowledge of all business lines, the central functions are divided into various departments: Internal Audit, Communication, Compliance, Corporate Office, Finance, Tax, Legal, Human Resources, Risk and Information Security.
The Group Tax department, based in Geneva, is responsible for managing the Group's tax situation, complying with current legal and regulatory provisions as well as the risk control system, safeguarding Pictet's reputation, and maintaining good relations with various tax authorities.
The Group Tax department is looking for a tax expert to join the Group Tax Office team, mainly responsible for managing strategic tax projects within the Group, tax risk management and controls, as well as coordination in case of information requests or audits.
Your role
- Participate in the management of strategic tax projects by providing tax expertise on various aspects, including direct and indirect taxes (advance tax, VAT, stamp duty), transactional taxes, and withholding tax.
- Implement and conduct tax controls and audits, and issue recommendations based on their findings; monitor the implementation of these recommendations.
- Carry out tax risk assessments and design risk reduction strategies.
- Collaborate with other departments to ensure tax aspects are taken into account.
- Monitor developments in tax law and regulations.
Your profile
- University degree in law or economics.
- Five to ten years of experience in the field of taxation.
- Experience gained in a law firm or one of the Big Four consulting firms: an asset.
- Ability to work independently, showing initiative.
- Analytical mindset, combined with a willingness to solve problems and challenge the status quo.
- Proficiency in common MS Office applications.
- Fluency in French and English is essential; knowledge of German is a plus.
