The Institute of Tissue Medicine and Pathology at the University of Bern fulfills an important role in diagnostic services for clinics and hospitals throughout the canton of Bern. We employ around 220 staff in diagnostics, research, and teaching.
To support our team in the Technical Services area, we are looking for a Deputy Team Leader: Facility Management to start immediately or by arrangement.
Your tasks
- Co-responsibility for the trouble-free operation of the building as well as for the operation, maintenance, and monitoring of safety and building technology
- Managing maintenance contracts and their periodic cost reviews
- Maintaining a maintenance plan for the preventive maintenance and calibration of all devices and systems in diagnostic and research operations
- Planning device calibrations for process safety and prerequisites for certified procedures
- Execution/organization of minor maintenance/repair work and assistance in implementing construction/maintenance measures
- Operation and maintenance of infrastructure systems such as heating, ventilation, water treatment, wastewater neutralization, electrical and sanitary systems, alarm and monitoring systems
- Monitoring the building management system (Honeywell)
- Periodic on-call duty on a weekly rotation, currently about once a month (maximum travel time 30 min / driver's license category B required)
- Assistance with inventory of the equipment park
- Assistance with internal projects
- Assistance with the access control system, including issuing and returning badges and keys
- Member of the Safety and Environment team
- Planning and processing of the safety concept in support of the Health and Safety Officer (GeSiBe)
- Deputy Safety Officer for Fire Protection (SiBeB)
What you bring
- Completed technical or craft training and several years of professional experience in building services, building technology, and operation of building management systems are an advantage
- Further education with a federal certificate in the areas of building maintenance, upkeep, or facility management is desired
- Team player and service-oriented with enjoyment in dealing with people
- Reliable and independent working style
- Good MS Office skills
- Good German skills in spoken and written form; English is an advantage
