According to the cantonal service contract, the psychiatry department of Emmental Hospital is responsible for the basic psychiatric care of the Emmental region (approx. 150,000 inhabitants) with locations in Burgdorf and Langnau.
For the inpatient geriatric psychiatry E3 at Emmental Hospital in Burgdorf, we are looking for an
Assistant Physician Psychiatry (a) 100%
Your main tasks
- Case responsibility for patients aged 65 and over on our open geriatric psychiatric ward E3
- Conducting psychiatric diagnostics and therapy including somatic assessment under competent supervision
- Interprofessional collaboration with medicine, nursing, psychology, social work, and specialized therapies
- Involvement of relatives as well as external general practitioners, therapists, and institutions
- Participation in the integrated psychiatric emergency service
Your profile
- Completed medical studies (Switzerland or recognized degree by MEBEKO)
- Ideally clinical experience in psychiatry and/or somatics (not mandatory)
- The position is particularly suitable for future general practitioners as well as doctors in specialized training in geriatrics
- Good German language skills in spoken and written form
- Empathetic approach to elderly people and enjoyment in working with patients in psychological crises
