The public prosecutor's office is the independent investigative and prosecuting authority of the canton of St. Gallen, responsible for the uniform enforcement of the state's criminal claims. It conducts criminal investigations and concludes them by issuing closing orders or by prosecution in court.
The public prosecutor's office also handles the collection of fines, penalties, fees, and costs resulting from these as well as from court judgments in criminal matters, prepares the enforcement of substitute imprisonment for unpaid fines and penalties, and disposes of or destroys seized or confiscated items and assets.

What to expect
An exciting role at the interface with the Chief Public Prosecutor, the Conference of the Public Prosecutor's Office of St. Gallen, the staff services, and cross-departmental committees.
Your tasks include
- Supporting and advising the Chief Public Prosecutor in the strategic orientation of the public prosecutor's office, in strategic planning and project management, as well as in personnel matters
- Managing the secretariat of the Conference of the Public Prosecutor's Office of St. Gallen, including preparation and follow-up of meetings and responsibility for minutes
- Leading the Staff Services team (currently 21 employees in finance and IT/criminal records)
- Overall responsibility for budget, financial, and resource planning of the public prosecutor's office, especially for the salary credit
- Participation in or coordination of projects of the SJD and the public prosecutor's office
- Coordination and handling of other central administrative and financial tasks of the public prosecutor's office
What distinguishes you
- Degree in economics (university or university of applied sciences) or practical training in administration, justice, or politics
- IT affinity and proven experience in at least two of the main activity areas (finance, IT, projects)
- Further training in change management, project or process management is an advantage
- Strategic-conceptual strength, networked thinking, as well as pronounced planning and organizational skills
- Cooperative and goal-oriented working and leadership style
- Flair for practical solutions and careful use of resources
- Experience from or network with partner authorities such as police, courts, and/or federal agencies is a plus
