Nurse for the Geriatric Psychiatry Hospital Unit
The University Service of Geriatric Psychiatry (SUPAA) of the North Vaud Psychiatry Center is looking for a qualified Nurse at an 80% rate starting September 1, 2025.
Context
The University Hospital Center of Vaud (CHUV) is one of the 5 Swiss university hospitals. Thanks to its collaboration with the Faculty of Biology and Medicine of the University of Lausanne and EPFL, CHUV plays a leading role in medical care, medical research, and education.
SUPAA is a specialized service tasked with ensuring care, teaching, and research in the field of geriatric psychiatry. This mandate is entrusted to it by the Department of Health and Social Action. The Geriatric Psychiatry Hospital Service of the CPNVD includes a 24-hour emergency service and a unit that can receive patients with any psychiatric pathology of advanced age.
Mission
- You ensure the identification, planning, execution, and evaluation of nursing care in the preventive, curative, palliative, and educational fields for patients through mastery of evidence-based clinical assessment
- You ensure the proper execution of delegated medical acts and take responsibility by demonstrating mastery of technical skills
- You ensure the reception of patients and their relatives and preparation for discharge as well as the organization of work, smooth operation, and continuity of unit activities through mastery of communication and coordination within the interprofessional team
- You develop and carry out actions for disease and accident prevention, health maintenance and promotion, as well as functional rehabilitation and social reintegration through teaching approaches
- You ensure efforts to improve the efficiency of nursing care based on scientific evidence and develop your self-assessment and learning capacities.
Profile
- You hold a Bachelor of Science in Nursing or an equivalent qualification (with CRS recognition for foreign diplomas)
- You have a good knowledge of the Vaud medico-social network
- You have experience and the ability to manage crisis situations
- You have professional experience in geriatric psychiatric settings
- You have excellent interpersonal skills, recognized and validated through training, supervision, etc.
- You have great autonomy in work and patient follow-up.
