About the job
What if you helped us design a more inclusive society?
Located in the Vevey region, between town and countryside, the Cité du Genévrier welcomes adults with disabilities due to intellectual impairment. A multidisciplinary and multi-site structure, it offers the people it welcomes a particularly harmonious living and working environment as well as a set of skills adapted to the needs and aspirations of each individual.
Integrated into the Eben-Hézer Foundation, the Cité du Genévrier is the custodian of the moral testament of its founder, Sister Julie Hofmann. It thus considers the happiness of the people it welcomes as the ultimate goal of its action.
Mission
The "L'Olivier" group
is a living place welcoming adults with intellectual disabilities and for most of them multiple disabilities. They require individualized support promoting well-being, notably through care and activities around the 5 senses. In this context, staff actively participate in outings, sports and cultural activities, as well as various leisure activities and holiday camps.
Supporting a person with multiple disabilities at Olivier means:
Accepting the encounter where each communicates with their own language, being the "resonance" of the other;
Replacing speech with gaze, touch, breathing, singing, smile, joy of living;
Recognizing the limits of words, finding a balance between being and doing; daring to simply be;
Knowing how to be humble, practicing daily discovery, trial and error, supposition, being inventive, creative;
Giving and receiving, showing respect, authenticity;
Committing over time.
Caring is not enough, one must build with the other;
Accepting that the person who does not express themselves nevertheless thinks and acts in their own way;
Recognizing that one is at the service of a human being who enjoys the same rights as oneself.
