We are a motivated, straightforward team of 9 and continuously advance the data world of ZHAW. As a Data Warehouse Engineer, you bring in your know-how, design solutions, and develop modern data products together with us. In doing so, you combine technical understanding with a good sense for efficient workflows and real user needs.

As part of our agile product team, you work closely with other DWH engineers as well as backend and frontend developers. Additionally, you regularly exchange ideas with our Business Intelligence Competence Center (BICC). Together, you continuously develop our Data Warehouse according to the DataVault 2.0 methodology.

• Your area of responsibility essentially includes:
• Analyzing, modeling, and loading data
• Further development of our Data Warehouse including the toolchain
• Provision and optimization of interfaces to surrounding systems
• Development and maintenance of semantic models
• Analysis of reporting requirements and their implementation

Technologies in our DWH: Our Data Warehouse is based on a modern cloud architecture in Microsoft Azure. We use, among other things, Azure SQL Database for data storage and Azure Data Factory for data integration and orchestration. For analytical evaluations, we rely on Azure Analysis Services, while Power BI serves as the central tool for reporting and visualization.

• Completed studies in computer science or comparable education
• Experience in modeling and implementing Data Warehouses (ideally DataVault 2.0)
• Very good SQL skills
• Knowledge of Python, Azure Analysis Services, and/or DAX is a plus
• Analytical, structured, and process-oriented thinking
• High solution orientation and enjoyment of complex issues
