Specialist in Immigration 80 - 100%
The Migration Office of the Canton of Zurich operates daily in the exciting political environment of all migration issues and the resulting tasks. It is responsible for the enforcement of Swiss foreign and asylum law, the agreement on the free movement of persons between Switzerland and the EU and EFTA states, as well as the Schengen and Dublin agreements.
For the Immigration/FZA department, we are looking for a specialist 80 - 100% starting from November 1, 2025, or by agreement.
You are responsible for the independent processing of applications for the issuance of foreign law permits as well as for measures to terminate residence, in accordance with the applicable regulations. You review the documents of the applicants, issue permits, draft decisions, and handle various correspondence. You appreciate written communication with the applicants, their legal representatives, and the authorities of the federal government, cantons, and municipalities in German.
For this demanding and diverse task, we require at least a commercial education (commercial employee EFZ) and several years of professional experience or a bachelor's degree. You have a good general education, combined with sensitivity for sensitive topics and attention to detail. You are skilled in written expression and have an interest in legal issues as well as in the structured drafting of complex decisions. In addition, you impress with flexibility, high commitment, and resilience. Pleasant manners, a sense of collegial cooperation, and a touch of humor complete your profile. Furthermore, you possess Swiss citizenship.
You can expect a meaningful activity with high personal responsibility in an experienced and committed team. We guarantee you interesting contacts with the authorities of the federal government, cantons, and municipalities, as well as with private interest representatives. Additionally, you benefit from modern working methods, such as flexible working hours and extensive home office options. We also promote and support your training and further education.
Do you feel addressed by this challenging task? Then we look forward to receiving your complete electronic application with photo by no later than August 31, 2025, via the following link.
