System Engineer – Windows Applications in the Police Environment 80–100 %

As a System Engineer – Windows Applications, you support enterprise applications for our customers in the security-critical police environment. You ensure stable, secure, and high-performance operation of the highly secure business applications, assist with projects, and contribute your know-how to the further development of IT systems.
We are looking for a committed personality as an ICT Application Engineer for our Zurich Airport location immediately or by arrangement.
Your Role
- Ensuring enterprise application operation (2nd/3rd level support) in our customer environment
- Integration, optimization, and lifecycle management of applications while adhering to agreed service levels
- Collaborating on the maintenance and further development of system- and platform-spanning interfaces between applications
- Continuously improving system automation, standardized configuration, monitoring, and operational documentation to increase availability and operational capability
- Coordination and alignment of releases together with customers, software suppliers, and other internal departments
- Active participation as well as sub-project management for the further development of the application landscape and lifecycle management considering specifications and technical requirements
Your Profile
- Completed education in computer science (e.g., IT specialist EFZ, IT technician)
- Deep knowledge in the administration of Microsoft Windows Server operating systems (including Active Directory, Group Policies)
- Solid knowledge and experience in 2nd and 3rd level support as well as lifecycle management of business applications
- Experience in automating operational processes (e.g., with PowerShell or other automation tools)
- Basic understanding of databases (e.g., SQL Server) regarding application operation
- Enjoyment and experience in structured and analytical work in the application environment, as well as willingness to learn new technologies
- Communicative personality with high service orientation and pronounced problem-solving skills, even in challenging situations
- Confident German and good English skills, both spoken and written
- Willingness to work outside regular office hours and to participate in on-call duties
