Tasks
Flight Operations Regulations and Policies is a section within the Flight Operations Policies, Procedures and Engineering department and is responsible for ensuring that all the relevant regulatory requirements are incorporated into the relevant SWISS Manuals (OMM, OM A).
- Developing and seeking approval for modifications and additions to the Operations Manuals of SWISS owing to
- new regulatory requireemnts (from EASA, FAA and other NAAs)
- new aviation safety standards (from ICAO, IOSA etc.)
- revised processes/worktools
- harmonization activities within the Lufthansa Groupp
- Monitoring aviation safety regulations and ensuring internal distribution of revised regulations
- Supporting other departments on policy topics
- Processing employee and crew reports on policy issues
- Channelling feedback into content revisions of Operation Manuals
- Analysis and evaluation of regulatory documentation (from ICAO, EASA, IOSA and the NAAs)
- Preparing policy proposals for internal approval
- Processing audit findings

Requirements
You enjoy analysing aviation safety regulations and developing policies and procedures to ensure compliance while optimizing the processes within flight operations.
- Bachelor’s degree in aviation or equivalent
- Relevant work experience
- Detailed knowledge of aviation regulations and standards (EASA, ICAO, IOSA)
- Experience in working with EASA Operations Manual structures and content
- Knowledge in an airline’s flight operations support environment
- Experience in devising and developing aviation policies and procedures
- Experience in devising and developing manuals for flight crew and cabin crew members
- Good working knowledge of the usual IT applications (Microsoft 365)
- Experience with XML based content management systems an advantage
- Awareness of human factors in policies, procedures and Operations Manuals
- Ability to work independently and in an analytical and structured way
- Excellent proficiency in written and spoken English and German
