The Zurich University of Teacher Education actively shapes education, school, and teaching of today and tomorrow in teaching and research. The Primary Level Department is responsible for the training of primary school teachers. It currently offers three bachelor's degree programs as well as subject and level extensions that impart fundamental competencies for teaching at the primary level.
This is what you will do.
- Teaching in the training of students with a focus on mathematics didactics at the primary level
- Design, implementation, and further development of teaching in mathematics didactics (primary level) in student training
- Independent research in mathematics didactics
- Planning and designing continuing education offerings for teachers in the mathematics subject area
- Professional and didactic co-responsibility for the continuous quality development of teaching offerings in the field of primary level mathematics
- Supervision and assessment of quality works in the field of mathematics didactics
- Coaching and professional support of beginning teachers in subject-specific and subject-didactic questions
This is what you bring with you.
- Completed university degree with a master's degree or equivalent training in a field relevant to mathematics didactics (preferably in mathematics or mathematics didactics)
- Experience in independent mathematics didactic research (qualitative and quantitative) as well as the ability to evaluate large data sets
- Teaching diploma for elementary school as well as several years of teaching experience or willingness to actively and continuously engage with the practical field
- Willingness to engage in dialogue with school practice
- Expertise regarding subject-specific and subject-didactic discourse
