The Biozentrum of the University of Basel is one of the world's leading institutes for Life Sciences. Its 32 groups and 500 employees research how molecules and cells create life. They cover the entire spectrum from atoms to organisms. Founded in 1971, the Biozentrum is the birthplace of numerous fundamental discoveries in biology and medicine and has produced several Nobel laureates.

The in-house warehouse sells and manages about 1000 items, from laboratory supplies to office materials, takes care of hazardous goods shipments, the disposal of solvents, and temporary imports and exports.

To strengthen our team, we are looking for a logistics employee with an affinity for administrative tasks.

Your tasks

• Receiving packages and pallet goods
• Recording incoming shipments in the SAP MM module
• Picking reservations from the webshop
• Goods issuance
• Distribution of packages, goods orders, and pallet shipments within the house
• Processing all temporary import and export shipments
• Breaking down VAT and customs invoices as well as maintaining and preparing lists for the finance department
• Goods storage + inventory control
• Solvent disposal

Your profile

• Completed vocational training as a logistics specialist or several years of professional experience in the warehouse
• Solid IT skills and experience with administrative tasks
• Good German skills, English skills are an advantage
• High service and customer orientation, as well as an independent and precise way of working
• Good physical fitness
