The Kantonsschule Stadelhofen is a cantonal high school with classical and modern languages, mathematical-scientific, and musical profiles.

In 2026, our school will be expanded with a branch in Dübendorf. At full capacity, it will accommodate 650 students and will include, besides the short gymnasium, a commercial middle school and a lower gymnasium. In summer 2027, another building in Dübendorf will be opened – also for 650 students. For the establishment of the branch and its later operation, we are immediately seeking additional support as a future Head of Media Library with special tasks.

Thursday is a fixed working day.

Your tasks

The project is in a continuous development process and the scope of tasks changes according to project progress. As part of the setup work and the subsequent start of regular school operations, you will be responsible, among other things, for the following activities:

Establishment and operation of the media library in Dübendorf with a strong focus on digital media (subject databases, e-media, online resources)

Responsibility for the conception of the media and service offerings of the media library

Establishment and management of subject department libraries in close coordination with the departments

Advising school members on the use of information and media (research, source evaluation, usage)

Maintenance, acquisition, and cataloging of both physical and digital offerings

Design and implementation of user training and events, especially to promote information literacy

Development of offerings for learning and meeting areas together with students, teachers, and school management

Collaboration with the management of the media library at Kantonsschule Stadelhofen and Kantonsschule Hohe Promenade in the initial phase

Furthermore, you are willing to work both at the Zurich Stadelhofen location and in Dübendorf. From summer 2026, your workplace will be exclusively in Dübendorf. Since this is a school operation, home office is not possible.

Your profile

• University degree in library and/or information science or an equivalent qualification and several years of professional experience in the library and information sector
• Experience in cataloging (preferably with Winmedio) and very good research skills in subject databases and other digital information sources
• Willingness to develop offers for information and media literacy in cooperation with teachers
• High affinity for IT and digital work
• MS Office, interest in graphics and social media are a plus
• Enjoy working with young people
• Independent, interested, and service-oriented
• Didactic skills are a plus

Based on your previous professional activities, you can actively contribute your own ideas and experiences to the further development of the school. The weekly working hours are distributed over 4-5 working days and the extra time is taken during school holidays. The employment conditions are based on the personnel regulations of the canton of Zurich.
