Postdoc. position in the Interdisciplinary Center for Bone Diseases (CiMO)
Contexte
The Lausanne University Hospital (CHUV) is one of Switzerland’s five university hospitals. Through its close collaboration with the Faculty of Biology and Medicine at the University of Lausanne and EPFL, CHUV plays a leading role in medical care, research, and education. CHUV is also recognized internationally: it has been ranked among the world’s leading hospitals by Newsweek since 2019, including a 9th place worldwide in 2019, and it remains among the top hospitals in Switzerland in the 2025 edition. (SWI swissinfo.ch)
The Interdisciplinary Center for Bone Diseases (CiMO) is an independent unit within the Rheumatology Service and the Department of Musculoskeletal Medicine at CHUV. CiMO provides care for metabolic bone diseases, including osteoporosis and rare bone diseases, and has been recognized as a national reference center for rare bone and non-inflammatory connective tissue diseases. CiMO is one of the largest bone disease centers in Switzerland, performing over 5,000 consultations and 6,000 DXA examinations (bone densitometry or body composition) every year.
CiMO has extensive clinical research experience through the OsteoLaus cohort, comprising nearly 1,500 participants followed for 13 years, and through the analysis of clinical patient data to characterize the benefits and side effects of osteoporosis therapies. CiMO has been a pioneer in the development and use of the Trabecular Bone Score (TBS®, Medimaps Group SA, Switzerland), a gray-level textural marker of bone microstructure derived from lumbar spine DXA images that predicts fracture risk independently of bone mineral density and other clinical risk factors. In this context, CiMO collaborates with Medimaps Group SA on the clinical implementation of a new AI-derived software, TBS Reveal®, which opportunistically analyzes routine radiographs to assess bone fragility.
Mission
You will join the TBS Reveal study, an ongoing project conducting a real-world evaluation of the clinical utility and cost-effectiveness of TBS Reveal®. The project has been awarded an Innosuisse grant.
