The Institute for Tissue Medicine and Pathology of the University of Bern fulfills an important role in the area of diagnostic services for clinics and hospitals throughout the entire canton of Bern. We employ around 220 staff in diagnostics, research, and teaching.
To support our team in Administration Management, we are looking for a Medical Secretary 100% immediately or by agreement.
• Entering sender and patient data into the corresponding systems
• Entry diagnosis and macroscopic findings according to dictation
• Writing medical diagnostic findings according to dictation in German and French
• Organizing and coordinating FNP examinations in the Cytological Outpatient Clinic
• Preparing and administratively accompanying the tumor board as well as carrying out the billing
• General administrative and secretarial tasks
• Maintaining and updating master data
• Providing information on invoices to health insurance companies, hospitals, doctors, and patients
• Clarifications and correspondence with internal and external parties such as hospitals, medical practices, insurance companies, offices, and patients
• Support in the area of accounts receivable management and accounting
• Completed training as a medical secretary or equivalent qualification with professional experience
• Sound knowledge of medical terminology
• Experience in writing medical reports according to dictation
• Experience in patient administration as well as in file and data archiving
• Very good oral and written language skills in German and French
• Precise, reliable, and efficient working style
• High sense of responsibility as well as pronounced team and communication skills
• Flexibility and resilience in a dynamic work environment
