The Social Counseling service at the University of Basel is a contact point within Student Services, offering students advice and information on personal, financial, and social problems during their studies. With the upcoming retirement of the long-standing person responsible for disability matters, we are looking for a social worker or psychologist with counseling and project experience for a permanent position starting 1 June 2026 or by agreement.

Your tasks
The tasks include the following areas:- Advice and support for students with disabilities, chronic or mental illnesses
- Consultation for lecturers, awareness-raising work, and workshops in the area of studying without barriers
- Project and concept work, further development of counseling services and processes, expertise on issues of compensation for disadvantages
- Collaboration and representation in all areas of social counseling (educational financing, scholarships, social insurance)
- Networking and cooperation with internal and external specialist offices
Your profile
You have a professional or university degree as a social worker or an equivalent qualification for the described area of responsibility and bring several years of professional and project experience. You have a confident appearance, very good communication skills, and intercultural competencies. We expect very good German and English skills and proficient use of MS Office programs. Besides an interest in the higher education sector, you bring an independent and precise working style.We offer you
