In the interest of employees and companies, the Office for Labor (AFA) contributes to strengthening the location Zurich. The Competence Center for Labor bundles the labor market policy competencies within the AFA and takes on important strategic cross-sectional tasks, projects, and services on topics of labor market policy as well as the execution of public employment services and unemployment insurance.
For the new Finance & Controlling department, we are looking for you as a strong leader with a feel for numbers, processes, and people. In this role, you report directly to the head of the Competence Center for Labor and are responsible for the financial management of the Office for Labor.
Responsibilities:
- You are responsible for the personnel and professional leadership and further development of a team of 6-7 employees
- You manage all financial processes of the office in the context of the Canton of Zurich and SECO
- You coordinate and are responsible for budgeting, annual financial statements, and the business report with an eye on the big picture
- You ensure correct accounting according to the requirements of the canton and SECO (including financial statements, creditors, debtors, debt collection)
- You are responsible for providing controlling reports and reporting in cooperation with HR and the specialist departments
- Compliance tasks such as internal control system (ICS) and adherence to SECO requirements also fall within your area of responsibility
- You maintain collaboration with internal stakeholders and represent your department to external partners
Your profile:
- A higher degree in finance and accounting (e.g., professional certificate, HF, Bachelor or Master)
- Solid leadership experience in finance and controlling – ideally in the public sector
- Confident handling of SAP FI, MS365, and very good Excel skills
- Analytical and networked thinking, high independence, and resilience
- Enjoyment in team leadership and development in a dynamic environment
