This role is based in our Operational Headquarters in Basel, Switzerland. Please note that we can only accept applicants who are eligible to work in Switzerland or in possession of a valid work permit.
ROLE DESCRIPTION
The Human Resources Manager is responsible for all administrative HR and recruiting activities within Viking’s Operational Head Office. This includes HR related administrative tasks as well as screening candidates, conducting interviews, and representing Viking Cruises as an Employer of Choice. The Human Resources Manager will report to the Senior Manager Human Resources and will also serve as a temporary assignment to cover a maternity leave.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Recruiting
• Verifying recruiting profiles & selection criteria with all departments involved
• Publishing job advertisements via various channels
• Screening of applications
• Interview scheduling and conducting personal and Microsoft Team’s interviews
• Correspondence with applicants
• Following defined recruiting processes in an effective & efficient manner to ensure given budgets and optimize if necessary
• Always ensuring adequate reporting of recruiting status quo & measures
HR Administration
• Managing HR Administration of employee lifecycles in an effective & compliant manner
• Preparing contract documents for employees
• Responsible for data maintenance in Applicant and Employee Tracking System
• Maintaining organization chart, structural set-up in SuccessFactors, creation of job codes
• Point of contact for both employees and line managers regarding HR-related questions
• Issuing employment confirmations and reference letters
• Supporting the payroll team with HR-related queries as well as with reports needed for the monthly payroll run
• Supporting on Onboarding of new employees (including setting up the organizational IT structure, permits as well as organizing an induction day)
• Correspondence with authorities
• Supporting various projects (e.g. anniversaries, birthday gifts)
KEY QUALIFICATIONS
• Proven experience in a similar HR role
• Strong organizational and communication abilities
• Advanced computer proficiency, especially in MS Office; SuccessFactors knowledge is a plus
• Solid background in administrative processes
• Fluent in English and German, both written and spoken
• Experience working in an international environment is advantageous
• High level of discretion and professionalism
• Confident handling sensitive and confidential information
• Able to work autonomously while thriving in collaborative settings
• Innovative mindset with a solution oriented approach
• Excellent judgment and people assessment skills
• Meticulous attention to detail
EDUCATION
• You have a bachelor’s degree or further education in Human Resources
